About The Designer

The High Line. New York City
Approach: All design solutions are created as a team with the client and site as key participants, where dialog during the design process is crucial to the long term success of the built outdoor environment. Special emphasis and careful consideration is given to the management of human, natural and economic resources, directly addressing the Triple Bottom Line in all projects whether they be residential, commercial or institutional.

"Unifying the environmental, social and economic aspects of the garden into a meaningful and useful whole.
Danilo Maffei

RHS Wisley. Surrey, United Kingdom
Background: My practice is founded in  horticulture with practical experience in public horticulture, landscape contracting and professional  design practice. International and domestic travel to notable and private landscapes has molded my outlook on the garden and its direct influence on our well-being. My professional work is complimented by teaching, volunteerism and civic leadership which emphasizes the relationship between the landscape, community and education.

Turtle Creek. Dallas, Texas
Involvement: I volunteer my time in the community (both locally and nationally) not because I think it will produce a financial profit, but because I enjoy being engaged with a broad spectrum of people and places. Here are some of them.
